When Can You Enrol?

Enrolment dates vary by age. Please see the list of enrollment dates as of March 2025:

Important Notes

This is not a free dental program. Depending on your adjusted family net income, patients may have to make a co-payment of up to 60%. You may also have to pay costs the CDCP does not cover.

The CDCP does not cover all dental services. Before starting any treatment, ensure you understand your dental care costs. Please let us know if you plan to use CDCP benefits.

Eligible individuals can apply online: Visit the Canada Revenue Agency application page for the CDCP.

Important Updates for CDCP Renewal

As part of the Canadian Dental Care Plan's (CDCP) eligibility process, CDCP clients must renew their coverage every year to confirm they continue to meet eligibility criteria.

The renewal process started in March 2025 for the new coverage benefit year, which runs from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

If you are currently covered under the CDCP, you can expect to receive a letter from the Government of Canada informing you that you need to renew your coverage before June 1, 2025, along with instructions on how to do so.

Renewal Process for CDCP

  1. File your 2024 tax return (same for your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable). You must receive your 2024 Notice of Assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency before starting the renewal process.
  2. Submit your renewal application by June 1, 2025. Renewal applications can be completed online at Canada.ca/dental, through My Service Canada, or by calling 1-833-537-4342 (TTY: 1-833-677-6262).
  3. You will receive a confirmation letter from the Government of Canada outlining your eligibility.

What to Expect If You Are Still Eligible

For CDCP clients who remain eligible, the letter will include:

CDCP Verification Required as of June 1, 2025

As of June 1, 2025, we will need to verify your continued coverage under the plan and check if your co-payment level has changed before providing services. Any estimates or preauthorization submissions previously approved will not be valid if you are no longer covered under the plan and receive care after June 30, 2025.
